Head Coach Michael Raymond and the Hartford tennis program announced on Friday that walk-on tryouts for the 2010-11 season will begin Tuesday, August 31 at the Hartford tennis courts.

Head Coach Michael Raymond announced the schedules for the Hartford men’s and women’s tennis teams on Wednesday. Both teams open the fall season at the Fairfield Doubles Invitational on September 11, and will play their first America East matches on April 16 against Binghamton and Stony Brook.

The America East Conference announced its 2009-10 men's and women's tennis All-Academic Teams on Wednesday, with Hartford's Aneil Bhalla earning distinction for his athletic and academic achievements. Bhalla, who topped the Hawks' singles ladder for much of the season, earned the highest grade-point average of the eight men's players recognized by the conference with a 3.97 mark.

Head Coach Michael Raymond has named the captains for the 2010-11 Hartford tennis teams, he announced on Friday. Rising senior Nicole Haynal will be joined by rising junior Margaret Sabatino as the women's team captains, while rising junior Aneil Bhalla and rising sophomore Josh Isaacson will take the lead for the men. Haynal also served as the women's co-captain this season, alongside senior Margaret Potkay.

The Hartford men's and women's tennis teams fell to Boston University over the weekend. The men dropped a narrow, 4-3 decision at home while the women fell in Boston, 6-1. For the men, the match marked the end of the regular season. The women will have one more battle upcoming, against Albany at home on Wednesday afternoon.
