DURHAM, N.H. – The University of Hartford track and field teams concluded competition at the 2010 America East Outdoor Track and Field Championships hosted by the University of New Hampshire in Durham, N.H. Anderson Emerole and Mike DuPaul highlighted the two-day event notching All-Conference performances in their respective events. In addition, the Hawks erased a total of six school records on Sunday.

The University at Albany Great Danes became the first school to sweep all four men's and women's track and field titles in the same year as they both took home titles at the 2010 America East Outdoor Championship. The Hartford men placed ninth overall while the women also finished ninth in the rankings.

Emerole earned points for the Hartford men in a pair of events. The sophomore took third in the 400-meter dash, earning All-Conference honors while racing to a school record-breaking time of 48.35. Emerole also raced to a time of 22.25 in the finals of the 200-meter dash, good for a seventh place finish in the event.

DuPaul tore up the track in the 800-meter run, placing second overall. The grad student covered the distance in 1:51.30, shattering his former school record of 1:53.79 while taking home All-Conference honors.

Despite an eighth place finish, Wayne Lawrence, Robert Giuliani, Josh Hummel, and DuPaul combined to break Hartford's 4x800-meter record time set last week at the Penn Relays with their time of 8:01.46.

For the Hartford women, Priscilla Appiagyei also had a stellar weekend with her performance in the 400-meter dash. In the preliminaries on Saturday, the rookie completed the lap in a school record time of 56.73. Appiagyei went on to better her personal-best time by more than one second on Sunday when she clocked in at 56.40 and took fourth place.

Ariana Bass also landed a fourth place finish for the Hartford women with her time of 1:02.68 in the 400-meter hurdles.

The women's 4x400-meter squad (Kaycee Martinez, Nicole McClintock, Ariana Bass, Appiagyei) also had a strong showing on Sunday afternoon, posting a season-best time of 3:55.06 and finishing sixth overall.

In her first outdoor championship, Brittney Lawson earned points for the Hartford women in the field events and continued to rewrite the Hartford record book. The rookie's hurl of 11.45-meters ranked seventh overall and smashed the former school record of 11.18-meters set in the 2008 season.

Anthony Green, a sophomore thrower, entered Hartford's record book with his performance in the discus on Sunday. Green reached a mark of 36.45-meters and bettered the school record set in the 2001 season by three centimeters.

The men's and women's track and field teams return to the track next weekend for the New England Championship held in Dedham, Mass. The two-day event kicks off on Friday, May 7.
