TERRIER INVITATIONAL RESULTS
BOSTON, Mass.—The University of Hartford indoor track and field teams headed to Boston Friday for this weekend's competition. The full squad took to the track at the Joe Donahue Invitational, hosted by Northeastern University, while junior
Megan Barry ran the 5,000 meters at the Terrier Invitational, hosted by Boston University.
Barry posted a time of 17:39.29 at the Terrier Invitational to finish 23rd in the field. Barry's time qualified her for the New England Championship. Junior
John Busque represented the Hawk men at the Terrier Invitational in the 5,000 meters Saturday night. Busque posted a time of 15:15.67, a personal best at that distance.
At the Joe Donahue Collegiate meet at Boston's Reggie Lewis Center, the Hartford women posted 13 points to finish 12th as a team. The Hawk men scored eight points, finishing 11th in the team standings.
The Hartford women picked up six points in the 500-meter dash as senior
Priscilla Appiagyei and sophomore
Tiffany Harrison finished in the top eight of the event to score for the Hawks. Appiagyei notched fourth place in the 500, posting a time of 1:18.40 while Harrison took eighth with her time of 1:18.95
Sophomore
Sam Crisafulli earned a sixth-place finish in the women's 800-meter run, covering the distance in 2:20.34, a season-best time in the event. Freshman
Opeyemi Osuntuyi tied a season-best mark in the 60-meter hurdles, crossing the line in 9.53 in the prelims before taking eighth in the event with a time of 9.60 in the finals heat.
The women's 4x400-meter relay squad also scored points for the Hawks, bringing home a sixth-place result. Appiagyei, Harrison and Osuntuyi teamed with senior
Natalie Bonham to pass the baton in a time of 4:01.25.
Freshman
Eric Tahtamoni led the Hartford men, racing to a sixth-place mark in the 500-meter dash. Tahtamoni matched his collegiate best time of 1:07.79 in the sprint to score for the Hawks.
Tahtamoni, along with junior
Jared Casey, senior
Gario Graham and junior Mike Iosebashvili helped the Hawks to a fifth-place finish in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:31.04.
Senior Chris Rodriguez also scored for the Hawks. Rodriguez broke the two-minute mark in the 800-meter run, finishing the race in 1:57.90, to bring home eighth place.
The Hawks are back on the track in Hanover, N.H., to compete at Dartmouth February 1, the final meet for the Hawks before the America East Indoor Track and Field Championship, February 11-12.
