Complete 2015 Men's Lacrosse Schedule

WEST HARTFORD, Conn.
–
Tenth-year head coach Peter Lawrence has announced the schedule for the upcoming 2015 University of Hartford men's lacrosse team. The 14-game slate, which features an evenly balanced home and away schedule, is highlighted by a pair of non-conference dates with teams from the 2014 NCAA Tournament's field of 16 as well as a six-game America East Conference campaign.

The Hawks will be tested early in the non-conference schedule, as they open up the season with Bryant in Smithfield, R.I., on Saturday, February 21. Last season, Mike Pressler took his Bulldogs to new heights in his eighth year, guiding Bryant to the NCAA Quarterfinals following its third-straight Northeast Conference title. The two squads battled it out last season, but the Hawks fell on the short end of a defensive battle in a 7-5 final from Al-Marzook Field.

From there, Hartford makes its home debut on Saturday, February 28 against Manhattan and will remain home for its next contest, a mid-week clash with Ivy League foe Brown on Wednesday, March 4. Non-conference play continues on the road as the Hawks pay the Quinnipiac Bobcats a visit on Saturday, March 7 for their final tune-up before America East play begins.

The league opener pits Hartford up against UMass Lowell, the newest member of the America East, in the River Hawks' inaugural season. That contest, which will be played at Al-Marzook Field at Alumni Stadium on Saturday, March 14, will be the last game the Hawks play in West Hartford for three weeks as they do not return home until Saturday, April 4 to host UMBC.

The Scarlet and White start out that four-game road trip with bouts against Holy Cross, a familiar foe, on Tuesday, March 17. Hartford also pays visits to league members Albany (Sat., Mar. 18), the reigning America East champion who fell to Notre Dame in the NCAA Tournament's quarterfinals, and Binghamton (Sat., Mar. 28), before wrapping up its road trip at 2014 NCAA Tournament participant Siena on Tuesday, March 31. Last season, the Hawks and Saints withstood four overtimes in West Hartford, but it was the visiting squad that came away with the 11-10 win.

Following the return home against the Retrievers, the Hawks jump out of conference play two more times as they host the UMass Minutemen on Saturday, April 11 before taking on instate rival Sacred Heart on Tuesday, April 14.

The final road game sends Hartford to Vermont on Saturday, April 18. The 2015 regular season will come to a close at home, as Hartford hosts Stony Brook in a Friday evening matchup under the lights of Al-Marzook Field at Alumni Stadium on April 24.

The top-four teams qualify for the America East Championship, which will be played Thursday, April 30 and Saturday, May 2, at the site of the highest seeded team in the standings.

The Hawks went 6-9 in 2014 with a 1-4 conference record, falling one win shy of making their fourth-straight America East Championship. Lawrence returns 20 players and six starters to a roster that graduated 12 seniors last May, including 2014 America East All-Conference First Team and USILA Scholar All-America Team member Tate Klidonas as well as Alex Matarazzo, an America East All-Conference Second Team selection last season.

Highlighting 17 returners is redshirt senior Adam Yee, a faceoff specialist who earned America East All-Conference First Team honors last season, and sophomore Jaedon Henderson, an all-rookie team choice in 2014. Yee posted a .557 win percentage at the X last season, going 191-of-343, while Henderson ranked third in the scoring with 17 goals and nine assists.
