  • Spent 51 years in intercollegiate athletics throughout the Nutmeg State as an administrator, coach, and student-athlete.
  • Gained a reputation as a developer of Division I programs, at Fairfield University (where he was a student-athlete, baseball coach, and AD),the University of Hartford (where he was AD), and Sacred Heart University (where he was AD).
  • As Director of Athletics from 1986-92, guided Hartford in its transition from Division II to Division I.
  • Supervised the building of an $11-million athletics complex and the development of 18 varsity sports programs.
  • Held numerous roles within the NCAA and other governing organizations, receiving a bounty of accolades
  • Among his greatest accomplishments are his two children, son, Christopher, and daughter, Dr. Courtney Stephenson. 
  • A native of Mount Vernon, New York.
