  • Played four years of baseball at Hartford, serving as a team captain as a senior.
  • Upon graduation, held the school record for hits.
  • Led the team in runs batted in as a sophomore, batting .324 with a fielding percentage of .950.
  • Compiled a .463 batting average of 1962, leading the Hartford freshman team to an undefeated season.
  • Named to "Who's Who in America Universities and Colleges" for 1964-95.
  • Also played three years with the Hartford men's soccer team.
  • A Dean's List student, he earned his Bachelor's degree in 1965 and his Master of Education degree in 1966.
  • Went on to earn a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin in Educational Psychology.
  • At the time of his induction, he was Superintendent of Schools for the Claremont (Calif.) Unified School District.
