FULL AMERICA EAST RELEASE

West Hartford, CT – Senior forward/Center Diana Delva scored her third Player of the Week honor this season, and the fourth for the Hawks. Delva's honor comes after leading the Hawks to a pair of road wins against Vermont and Stony Brook in a 2-0 week.

Delva averaged a double double on the week, with 18.5 points and 10.5 rebounds-per-game. She opened the week with a 20-point, 12 rebound performance at Vermont. Her 20 points were more than half of the Hawks total as they secured the defensive battle with a 38-36 final score. Delva finished the Vermont game 8-of-12 from the field and 4-of-4 at the free throw line, while also blocking five shots, which tied her career-high.

To close out the week, Delva added her team-leading 18th game in double figures with 17 points on 7-of-10 shooting at Stony Brook. She also led the Hawks with nine rebounds against the Seawolves. Delva currently leads the team in both scoring (14.1 ppg) and rebounding (8.0 rpg), while her 65.7 percent (119-of-181) effort from the field has her second in the nation in that category.

The Hawks will put their 11-game win streak and their unbeaten record in conference play on the line in two home games this week, the first on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. when the UMBC Retrievers visit Chase Arena.  Hartford will then close out the week against New Hampshire on Saturday at 4:00 p.m. All games can be heard live on the flagship station for Hartford women's basketball WWUH 91.3 FM or online at HartfordHawks.com.
