COMBINED RESULTS
POWELLS POINT, N.C.—The University of Hartford men's golf team wrapped up its Fall tournament schedule with a final round score of 285 at the Old Dominion/Outer Banks Collegiate Invitational at the Kilmarlic Golf Course Tuesday. The Hawks finished with a three-round score of 889, finishing eighth out of the 18 teams in the field.
Georgia Southern won the tournament with a score of 854, 12 strokes ahead of runner-up Richmond.
The Hawks enjoyed their best round of the three-day tournament on Tuesday, combining to shoot 285 with only one player shooting over par. The team score was tied for the third lowest among the field during the final round of play. The 285 continued a trend of lowering scores throughout the tournament for the Hawks, who carded a 304 on Sunday and 300 on Monday.
Junior Pat Ross again led the Hawks on the final day of the tournament, shooting a three-under-par 69. Ross finished tied for 10
th in the field as an individual with a 54-hole score of 217 (+1). Ross was at his best on par-five holes with an average score of 4.53 on those holes over the course of the tournament. His seven-under-par performance on those holes led the Hawks and tied for third in the field. Ross also paced the Hawks with 14 birdies and an eagle during the tournament.

Dan Yustin,
Anthony Vecchiarelli and
Wally Gonzalez each navigated the final 18 holes in 72 strokes. For both Yustin and Gonzalez, the final-round 72 served as their best score of the tournament. Yustin finished tied for 31st in the field, shooting 224 for the tournament, one stroke ahead of Vecchiarelli, whose score of 225 tied for 37
th. Gonzalez, who shot in the 80s on Sunday and Monday, finished with 241 strokes.
Freshman
Evan Russell tied with Yustin in the individual standings, shooting 224 for the tournament. The rookie posted a 73 on the tournament's final day.
Hartford finished in the top-10 in each of its six tournaments during the Fall, including a four-tournament span that saw the squad win three tournament and finish as the runner-up in another. That span was the most successful stretch of any Hartford men's golf squad since the 1993-94 season.
