ALBANY, N.Y. – John Gallagher, head coach of the University of Hartford men's basketball team, will be joining forces with colleague Will Brown and four other head coaches from the Northeast region in running a Coaches vs. Cancer Coaching Clinic. The Coaching Clinic is scheduled for Sunday, September 22 and will be held at SEFCU Arena on the University at Albany campus.
Spearheaded by Brown, who just concluded his 12th season as head coach of the Great Danes' men's basketball team, the Coaching Clinic also features Tommy Dempsey (Binghamton), Joe Jones (Boston University), Matt Langel (Colgate) and Jimmy Patsos (Siena).
The Coaching Clinic, which is open to all coaches, costs $25 and begins with registration at 8:30 a.m. Each registered coach will receive a gift from Anaconda Sports/LIDS Team Sports. All proceeds from the event will benefit Coaches vs. Cancer. For more information, contact Katie Awad at

Coaches vs. Cancer is a nation-wide collaboration between the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) that empowers basketball coaches, their teams, and local communities to make a different in the fight against cancer.
The program leverages the personal experiences, community leadership, and professional excellence of basketball coaches nation-wide to increase cancer awareness and promote healthy living through year-round awareness efforts, fundraising activities and advocacy programs.
