Final Results

EDINBURG, Texas - Nick MacDonald saved his best for last, firing a 75 in the third round of the America Sky Championship to finish in seventh place overall. It was the best round turned in by a Hartford men's golfer at the event, as the Hawks finished tenth overall. Texas-Pan American won the event, which they hosted at Los Lagos Golf Club. Brandon Reyna took the individual trophy, finishing with an overall 216, 15 strokes ahead of MacDonald.

For his efforts, MacDonald was named America Sky Second Team All-Conference.

MacDonald posted his 75 on the heels of his second-round 76, which vaulted him up the leaderboard and gave him the individual lead within the Hartford team. The senior was one of only two Hawks to post multiple rounds below 80. Zack Ungvarsky, who shot a third-round 83 to finish tied for 30th, opened play with a 79 on the first loop of the week. Ungvarsky finished second on the Hawks, eleven strokes back of MacDonald.

Freshman Michael DiMeglio closed out his first season of collegiate golf by firing an 87 on Tuesday. The combined score of 254 left him tied for 45th place in the individual rankings.

Senior Maki Kobayashi, the champion of the New England Division I Championships two weeks ago, finished 51st at Los Lagos. Kobayashi carded a third-round 82, a distinct improvement of 13 strokes from his second round score.

Senior Nick Pokora rounded out the competition for Hartford, shooting an 88 on Tuesday to leave him in 52nd place overall.
