MacDonald Moves Up in America Sky Championship Second Round

Round Two Results

EDINBURG, Texas -
Nick MacDonald fired a second-round 76 to pace the Hawks and move into 11th place overall individually as the Hartford men's golf team finished the second round of play at the America Sky Championship in a tie for ninth place. Hartford's combined score of 657 leaves them even with South Dakota. Texas Pan-American, which is hosting the tournament at Los Lagos Golf Club, leads the way with a 610 through two rounds.

The senior MacDonald followed up his first-round 80 by carding a 76 and moving past fellow senior Zack Ungvarsky for the team lead. MacDonald trails the overall leader, Brandon Reyna of UTPA, by 15 strokes.

Ungvarsky, meanwhile, put together a second-round 80 to leave himself tied for 16th place overall, just three strokes behind MacDonald. Ungvarsky's first-round 79 and MacDonald's 76 in the second round remain the two best Hartford rounds of the tournament thus far.

Freshman Michael DiMeglio is tied for 41st place after shooting an 85 in the second round. Senior Maki Kobayashi sits tied for 51st place after following up his first-round 88 with a second-round 95.

Senior Nick Pokora rounds out the Hartford lineup, improving upon his first-round score by 12 strokes in the second loop. Pokora fired an 87 in the second round to move into 52nd place overall.

Hartford will complete play at the America Sky Championship on Tuesday with the third round from Los Lagos.
