COMPLETE RESULTS

Celebration, FL –
Hartford freshman Sarah Sideranko struck her best single round in the final round of the three round MAAC Championship to overcome the previous leader and take home medalist honors in the first conference championship of her collegiate career. Sideranko led the Hawks to a third place finish at the MAAC Championship, the first championship in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference for Hartford who joined the MAAC last summer.

Sideranko finished with a four-over par 76 in the first round, two strokes behind then leader Bridgett Carr from Siena who finished with a 74. Sideranko didn't waiver in the second round, matching her score from the first 18 holes, this time one-stroke shy of Carr. In the final round of the weekend, Sideranko finished with a 74, the Hawks best single round of the weekend, passing Carr and holding off Siena's Catherine Shomo, who made a late surge and finished second.

Sideranko finished the 54-hole tournament with a 226, winning the third individual title of her freshman season and the McLeod Memorial Award for the lowest three round score. Sideranko's previous medalist honors came at the ECAC Championship and the CCSU Invitational, both in the fall season. Sideranko rounded out her first conference championship by being named the MAAC Rookie of the Year, an award based on the lowest GolfStat average throughout the season.

Sophomore Emily Linn finished second for the Hawks, shooting a three-round 251, finishing 14th overall. Linn's best single round was an 83, coming on the second 18 holes. She finished with 84's in the first and final round.

Rounding out the Hawks five was Kirsten LaPointe who finished 23rd overall with a 262. LaPointe's single best round was an 84, while she finished with an 88 in the opening round and a 90 in the final round.
