Women’s Golf Announces Fall Tournament Schedule

Complete 2010-11 Schedule

West Hartford, CT –
University of Hartford women's golf coach Donna Harris has announced her five fall tournament for 2009. The Hawks will play in four school sponsored tournaments as well as the annual ECAC Championships during their fall season.

Hartford will open up play in the fall at the Dartmouth Invitational on September 17-19 at the Hanover Country Club in Hanover, NH. Last year, the Hawks finished eighth out of the 20 teams participating in the Dartmouth Invitational, with rookie Sarah Sideranko leading the Hawks in her first collegiate tournament, finishing second overall.

Following the Dartmouth Invitational, the Hawks will then travel down interstate 91 to participate in the Yale Fall Intercollegiate on September 24-26 at the Yale Golf Course in New Haven, CT. This will mark the third-straight year the Hawks will participate in Yale's fall tournament, finishing 16th (of 19) in 2008 and eighth (of 13) last year.

The Hawks will open play in October at the ECAC Championships at Twisted Dunes Golf Course in Egg Township, NJ on October 8-10. Last year, Sideranko scored her first collegiate victory, winning the ECAC Championship by one strokes with a one-under 71 in the final round. Sideranko led the Hawks to a fourth place finish in the event, which featured 10 teams.

The final two events of the fall season will be the Rutgers Invitational and the Sacred Heart Invitational, both in October. The Rutgers Invitational will take place from October 14-16 at the Rutgers Golf Course in Piscataway, NJ. The Sacred Heart Invitational will be held from October 23-25 at the Great River Golf Club in Milford, CT. Last season, the Hawks finished second at the Sacred Heart Invitational, led by 2010 women's golf captain Emily Linn who became the second player to earn medalist honors in the fall season. Linn finished one-stroke better than St. John's Renee Cloutier to earn the title.
