Men's Tennis Opens Season at Fairfield Doubles Invitational

FAIRFIELD, Conn. - The Hartford men's tennis team opened the 2010 fall season on Saturday with three victories for the afternoon. Each of the Hawks' three doubles teams played three matches, and each grabbed a victory from three different nearby rivals.

Josh Isaacson and Aneil Bhalla claimed a victory over Connecticut in the tournament's Pool One. The duo, each serving as a men's co-captain this season, knocked off the Huskies' top doubles team, 8-6. Fairfield and Quinnipiac each topped the pair, by scores of 8-3 and 8-2, respectively.

Marco Neves and Eric Floum grabbed the next Hartford victory, again an 8-6 triumph, this time over St. Peter's. In their pool, Pool Two, Nieves and Floum were knocked off by UConn (8-2) and Quinnipiac (8-2).

Finally Edgardo Ureta and Filip Miletic earned their victory over the hosts from Fairfield, 8-6 in Pool Three. The duo was topped by St. Peter's and Sacred Heart.

Hartford opens its home schedule in 12 days, when they take on Siena at the Hartford Tennis Courts. That match is set to begin at 3:30 p.m.
