Lubezky Named Academic All-American

TOLEDO, Ohio - Senior forward Alon Lubezky (Kfar Shmaryahu, Israel/Yovel Herzlia) was one of 34 Division I men's soccer players in the nation named to the ESPN Academic All-America Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Lubezky, an Economics and Finance major, garnered a spot on the Second Team. He has maintained a 3.52 grade point average in his four years at Hartford. Last season, Lubezky was one of 11 Division I men's soccer players to be named a First Team Academic All-America selection. He is also a two-time First Team Academic All-District choice.

The senior finished his career at Hartford as the program's all-time leading scorer with 145 points on 62 goals and 21 assists. He also holds the school records for career goals (62), points in a season (50), goals in a game (5) and points in a game (10). Lubezky led the Hawks (2-11-4, 0-6-3 America East) in scoring for the fourth consecutive season this fall with 25 points on 10 goals and five assists.

The 2003 America East Offensive Player of the Year, Lubezky is a four-time America East All-Conference selection as well as a three-time NSCAA All-New England honoree. He was also named the 2003 America East Scholar Athlete of the Year in men's soccer.
