Hawks Finish Second at Mt. Holyoke

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. - The University of Hartford women's golf team finished second at the Mt. Holyoke Invitational on Sunday at The Orchards.

The Hawks shot 675 as a team and finished behind only St. John's (645) in the 14-team field. The runner-up finish was Hartford's best finish in three years, since the Hawks won the Bryant College Women's Golf Invitational back in the fall of 2001.

Freshman Juliana Carrillo led the Hawks with rounds of 81 and 80 over the weekend to finish in a tie for fifth place overall at 161. Classmate Adrianna DiLonardo placed 11th at 165, though she recorded Hartford's low round of the tournament on Saturday (80). Other Hartford scores and finishes: freshman Maya Stojan (177, T-28th), junior Jo-Anna Krupa (178, T-28th) and freshman Jennifer Guido (183, T-34th).

Hartford will be back in action on October 1-2 at the Albany Invitational.
