Hawks Men's Soccer Drops Road Game at Boston University 1-0

Boston, MA ? The University of Hartford men's Soccer Team dropped a 1-0 decision on the road at America East foe Boston University on Wednesday night. The Hawks are now 4-7-4 overall and 2-5 in America East action. The Terriers improve to 8-4-4 overall and 3-3-1 in conference play.

The only goal of the game came with 16:49 to play in regulation when the Terriers rookie Richy Dorman drove into Hawks territory and took a shot, which Hawks keeper Matt Glaeser had a save on. Despite Glaesar's save the Hawks were unable to control the rebound, which Dorman passed to Petur Sigurdsson who sent it to the back of the net.

The Hawks gave the Terriers a scare in the 81st minute when the Hawks sent an indirect free kick into the box but were unsuccessful in scoring. Hartford finished the game with no shots on goal; BU led the shots category with a 10-7 lead in that column.

“It was a very conservative, well balanced cautious game,” said head coach Dan Gaspar. “Neither team was taking many risks. In the end, they got their one chance and it paid off. We put more pressure on them in the final 15 minutes but weren't able to create any chances.”

The Hawks will travel to UMBC on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. for the final America East game of the regular season.
