W Soccer Shut Out at Fairfield

 

FAIRFIELD, CT ? The University of Hartford women's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision at Fairfield University on Sunday afternoon.

The Stags scored once in the first half and added two more goals in the final 45 minutes. Hartford dropped to 2-8-0 overall while Fairfield improved to 3-3-3.

Emma Howes scored in the 34th minute to give Fairfield the only tally it would need. Goalkeeper Brett Maron made four saves to record the shutout.

In the second half, Alex Caram added a goal in the 59th minute and Casey Frobey put the game away with a goal in the 71st. Junior Liz Cook made six saves in goal for the Hawks. Fairfield outshot Hartford by a 12-5 margin for the game and held a 6-1 edge in corner kicks.

Hartford will resume America East play on Thursday, September 28 at the University of New Hampshire. Kick off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
