Volleyball Drops 3-0 Match at Stony Brook



Stony Brook, NY ? The University of Hartford volleyball team dropped the second of two matches against Stony Brook this weekend. The Seawolves took home the victory with scores of 30-17, 30-19, 30-20. Hartford was led by senior Jennifer Monroy who finished with six kills. Hartford is now 7-18 overall (0-7 AE). Stony Brook improved to 18-7 overall and 6-1 in conference play.

 

The Hawks struggled from the floor throughout the match, hitting just .045 with 26 total kills, 22 errors in 89 total attacks. Monroy finished the match hitting .111 (seven kills, five errors, 18 attacks). Erin Macro finished just behind her with six total kills. She hit .125 from the field (four errors in 16 total attacks. Katie O'Hara and Maddison Molyneux also faired well for Hartford, finishing with five and four kills respectively.

 

Lindsay Ford returned as the Hawks primary setter, finishing with 14 assists overall. Sarah Rasor also finished with eight assists for Hartford. Defensively, the Hawks were led by Rasor, who finished with eight digs. Jackie Ahlers led the Seawolves, one of three players with double digit kills, finishing with 15 total.

 

The Hawks will next play on Saturday, October 27, the first of four-straight home matches for Hartford. The home stretch begins with Albany at 6:00 p.m. at the Sports Center.
