Baltimore, MD - The University of Hartford volleyball team dropped a three-game decision to UMBC on Friday afternoon. The Hawks were led by senior Jennifer Monroy who finished with 10 kills, the only Hawk in double figures.
Monroy finished the match with a .138 hitting percentage with six errors in 29 total attempts. Erin Macro led the team in hitting with a .353 attack percentage. She finished with eight kills, two errors in 17 total attempts. Megan Schauffele added six kills, while Katie O'Hara and Maddison Molyneux each added four. The Hawks finished the match hitting .106, with 34 kills, 22 errors in 113 total attempts.
Defensively, the Hawks were led by Schaufele who finished with 11 digs. Monroy and Lauren Flores were second with eight digs each. Sarah Rasor served as the Hawks primary setter, leading the team with 19 assists. Lindsay Ford finished with eight assists.
UMBC finished the match hitting .318 from the field with Bridget Scheetz and Sabrina Hoeks leading all hitters with 12 kills. Ashley Oscars added 10 kills. The Retrievers played six total players in the match. As a team, the finished with 48 kills, 14 errors in 107 total attempts.
The Hawks will close out the 2007 season at Binghamton on Sunday, November 11 at 1:00 p.m.
