Men's Tennis Drops 4-0 Match to Binghamton at America East Championship

New Haven, CT - The University of Hartford men's tennis team dropped a 4-0 decision to Binghamton in the opening round of play at the America East Championships. The match was decided before doubles play could begin.


Hartford dropped its four singles matches, with Doruk Baglan at second singles, Kyle O'Leary at third singles, Jeff Cote at fourth singles and Aaron Kooden at fifth singles all coming out short of victory. Artur Muller was leading Faisal Mohamed at the time the match was called in favor of the Bearcats. Muller had defeated Mohamed in the first set 7-6 and was leading 5-3 in the second set. Tim Glickman also did not finish at sixth singles after dropping the first set 6-0.

 

Also fairing well in the match-up was O'Leary who won one of three sets by a 2-6 score, but dropped the first and third sets by scored of 6-3 and 6-4. Cote picked up a victory in his firs set against Jon Bonnett by a 3-6 margin, but went on to drop 6-0 and 6-2 decisions in subsequent sets.
