W Soccer Falls 1-0 at Providence

 

PROVIDENCE, RI ? The University of Hartford women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision at Providence College on Friday afternoon.

The Hawks (0-2-2 overall) fell behind early after Providence (1-3-1 overall) broke through for a goal in the sixth minute. Marra Whaley scored on a deflection off a corner kick from Christie Gent.

Neither team was able to find the back of the net for the rest of the game. Hartford put just two shots on goal, both of which were stopped by PC keeper Laura Elfers. Senior Elizabeth Cook made four saves for the Hawks.

Hartford will next play at Massachusetts on Sunday, September 16 at 1 p.m.
