West Hartford, CT - University of Hartford men's soccer player Daniel Antunez was selected by the Colorado Rapids in Thursday's Major League Soccer Supplemental Draft, further complimenting the players selected in the full draft earlier this month. Antunez was one of four picks for Colorado in the supplemental draft.

“The entire Hartford Hawks Soccer Family are thrilled and very proud that Daniel Antunez has been recognized by the MLS Colorado Rapids by selecting him in the MLS  Supplemental Draft,” said head coach Dan Gaspar. “His selection reflects well on our program and is a tribute to Daniel's dedication to be the very best he can be.  Daniel is an outstanding young man and we wish him the very best of success has he pursues his dream towards becoming a professional soccer player.”

All supplemental draft selections are expected to report to Colorado this Saturday for preseason training. Antunez was a two-year member of the men's soccer team after transferring from Lon Morris College in Texas. He finished his two year Division I career with four goals and seven assists. This season he posted three goals and five assists for 11 points, which was second best on the team. Two of his goals were game winners, including the lone goal in a 1-0 shut out of Rhode Island.
