West Hartford, CT ? The University of Hartford volleyball team dropped its second-straight America East match by a 3-0 score to the Albany Great Danes (21-25, 15-25, 19-25) on Saturday evening. The Hawks fall to 5-16 on the season and 0-3 in conference play, while Albany improves to 11-8 overall and 4-0 in America East play.
Junior Erin Macro led the Hawks with a match-high 12 kills and a .308 attack percentage. She finished with just four errors in 26 total attacks. Also hitting well for Hartford was freshman Lindsay Makowicki who finished with four kills and no errors in 11 total attacks for a .364 attack percentage. Hallie Fullagar finished the match with nine kills, while Maddison Molyneux added five.
Lindsay Ford led the Hawks with 29 assists, while Molyneux led the Hawks defense with her first double digit digs match of the season, finishing with 10. Danielle Etta finished just behind her with nine digs, while Fullagar added seven and Ford added six.
As a team, the Hawks finished the match with a .180 attack percentage on 35 kills, 17 errors in 100 total attacks. The Great Danes finished the match hitting .468 with 39 kills, 13 errors in 97 total attacks. Hillary White led Albany with 10 kills. The Hawks best hitting came in the first set where they connected on 16 kills with only three errors in 33 total attempts for a .394 set percentage.
The volleyball team returns to action on Saturday, October 18 when they begin a two-match America East weekend swing through northern New England. They open with the New Hampshire Wildcats on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. and then travel to Maine for a Sunday match against the Black Bears at 2:00 p.m.
