Durham, NH - The University of Hartford volleyball team dropped a three-set (17-25, 16-25, 17-25) America East match at the University of New Hampshire on Saturday afternoon. Hartford was led in the match by junior hitter Erin Macro who finished with 10 kills, the only player in double digits. The Hawks fall to 5-17 overall and 0-4 in America East play, while UNH picked up their first conference victory (1-3) and are 4-16 overall.
Macro finished with a .154 hitting percentage with six errors in 26 total attempts to go along with her 10 kills. Leading the team in hitting was freshman Sydney Scott who finished with three kills and no errors in four attempts for a .750 attack percentage.
Also hitting well for Hartford was Hallie Fullagar and Lindsay Makowicki who finished with eight and five kills respectfully. Makowicki added a .214 attack percentage with only two errors in 14 attempts, while Fullagar finished the matching hitting .136 with five kills in 22 total attempts.
Lindsay Ford finished the match with 21 assists to lead Hartford, she also added two blocks, tied for the team lead in that category with Makowicki. Defensively, the Hawks were led by Danielle Etta who finished with seven digs. Also playing well defensively was Sarah Boss with six digs and Maddison Molyneux with four digs.
The Hawks close out a two-match New England swing with a Sunday afternoon tilt against the Maine Black Bears in Orono, ME at 2:00 p.m.
