WGolf Finishes 11th at ECAC Championship

 

WILLIAMSBURG, VA - The University of Hartford women's golf team finished 11th out of 17 teams at the ECAC Championship on Sunday at Kiskiack Golf Course.

Princeton took home the team title with rounds of 309 and 290 for a two-day total of 599, besting runner-up St. John's by 16 shots. Princeton's Susannah Aboff shot rounds of 73 and 68 to take home individual medalist honors at 141 (-3).

Hartford carded rounds of 331 and 324 to post a team total of 655. Junior Sadie Heald continued to lead the Hawks, posting her second consecutive round of 80 to finish tied for 27th at 160. Freshman Emily Linn tied for 45th overall at 164 while junior Paige Gauthier, after shooting the team's low round of the weekend (78), finished 53rd at 167. Rounding out the scoring for Hartford was junior Kara Sikorski, who tied for 62nd at 173. Senior Megan Claxton, after withdrawing from the first round due to illness, gutted out the second round with an 83 that contributed to the overall team score in the final round.

The Hawks will next compete at the Rutgers Invitational on October 10-11 at the Rutgers Golf Course in Piscataway, NJ.
