Volleyball Falls in Three Sets at Albany on Friday Night


Albany, NY - The University of Hartford volleyball team dropped a three-set match to America East Rival Albany on Friday evening. The Hawks fell by scores of 13-25, 14-25, 15-25, dropping to 6-24 on the season and 0-11 in America East play. Hartford will close out the 2008 season with a road match at UMBC on Sunday at 2:00 p.m.

Hartford was led by junior Maddison Molyneux who finished with six kills. She was followed by Hallie Fullagar and Lindsay Makowicki, who each added four kills. Makowicki led the Hawks hitters with a .222 attack percentage with two errors in nine total attempts. As a team, the Hawks hit -.060 from the field with 19 kills, 24 errors in 83 total attempts.

Lindsay Ford led the Hawks with 16 assists, while Fullagar led the defense with eight digs. Sarah Boss and Molyneux finished second defensively with four digs each.

The Great Danes finished with a .372 attack percentage (40 kills, 11 errors, 78 total attempts), led by Kamisha Kellam, the only player with double figure kills with 11.
