The University of Hartford dropped its final home match of the season in four sets (18-25, 25-16, 18-25, 11-25) to the New Hampshire Wildcats on Saturday at the Reich Family Pavilion. The Hawks drop to 6-23 overall and 0-10 in conference play, while New Hampshire improves to 7-20 overall and 4-7 in America East action.
The Hawks were led by juniors Erin Macro and Hallie Fullagar. Macro finished with 12 kills, a match-high, while Fullagar added 11. Fullagar finished the match with a .200 attack percentage with five errors in 30 total attempts. Also hitting well for the Hawks was Maddison Molyneux with seven kills and Michelle Cordell with five kills. Cordell finished with a team-high .250 attack percentage with two errors in 12 total attempts.
Lindsay Ford continues to lead the Hawks offense, finishing with 35 assists. Defensively, the Hawks were led by Danielle Etta and Bettina Woodman with 14 and 11 digs respectively. Etta's 14 digs is the fifth-straight match for the rookie in double figures.
As a team, the Hawks combined for a .066 attack percentage with 42 total kills, 34 error sin 122 total attempts. The Hawks best hitting set came in the second when they finished with a .387 attack percentage with just four errors in 31 attempts, while connecting on 16 kills. The Wildcats finished with a .200 attack percentage for the match (39 kills, 18 errors, 105 total attempts). Kirsten Bates led New Hampshire with 11 kills, while Lindsay Fogarty finished with a .471 attack percentage (nine kills, one errors, 17 total attempts).
The Hawks will close out the regular season with a pair of conference matches in the upcoming weekend. They begin with a 7:00 p.m. match at Albany on Friday, November 14 and close out the regular season on Sunday, November 16 at UMBC at 2:00 p.m.
