LOUDONVILLE, NY ? The University of Hartford lacrosse team dropped a 10-4 decision at Siena College on Saturday afternoon.
Harford (0-7 overall) got goals from senior Steve Roop, sophomore Justin Bearse and freshmen Michael Cudmore and Even Bryant. Cudmore also added an assist along with seniors Tom Harris and Brian Tilley. Chris Zarinsa led Siena (5-2 overall) with three goals.
The Hawks kept it close in the first half behind goals from Cudmore and Roop. Roop gave Hartford a 2-1 lead early in the second quarter on his first goal of the season. Siena, however, scored twice before the half ended to take a 3-2 lead into the locker room at intermission.
Siena outscored Hartford 4-1 in the third quarter and 3-1 in the fourth. Zarins netted two of his three goals in the second half to lead the Saints.
Junior Jon McMahon made 10 saves in goal for the Hawks. Brent Herbst finished with seven saves between the pipes for Siena.
Hartford will next play at Yale on Tuesday, March 25 at 7 p.m.
