The Hawks drop to 14-20 overall, while Yale improves to 20-20-1. Hartford's Brendan Floyd suffers his third loss of the season, giving up seven total runs on 10 hits.

The Hawks picked up one of those runs in the third inning, when Andy Drexel reached base on a throwing error to lead off the inning. He advanced to third on a single up the middle from Adam Grap and scored on a single to center from Ben Sobocinski.
The Bull Dogs were able to break open their lead with a seven run fourth inning, behind four hits and three walks. Cox led off the inning with a double and advanced to third on a single in the next at bat, Gorynski. Both runners would score on the next at bat, a single to right field from Stefan Schropp. Chris Sweeney provided three more of the runs when he knocked in Andy Megee and Andrew Moore on his home run to right field.
Hartford chipped into the lead with two runs in the fourth, making it 10-3. Mike Amendola led off the inning with a single to center field and scored on a two out double from Drexel. Drexel was then driven home on the next at bat, a double to left field from Grap.
Yale added those runs back to its lead in the top of the fifth. Gorynski began the offense with a double to right center. He would score on the third home run of the game, this one from Megee.
Hartford added three more runs in the game. The first came in the seventh when Drexel made a lead off single pay off. He would advance to second on an infield groundout and score on a Bull Dogs error on the short stop. The final two runs of the game came in the bottom of the ninth, both made possible by extra base hits. The first came on a solo home run to right field from Drexel. The second run came after Sobocinski tripled to right center. Simon Kudernatsch drove in Sobocinski with a single to left center.
