West Hartford, CT - The University of Hartford women's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision to the visiting Providence Friars on Tuesday afternoon at the University of Hartford tennis courts. Prior to the match, the Hawks honored their lone senior, Raquel Casino.
Casino made the most of her senior day match, taking Avery Gibson to a third set tie breaker before losing the first singles point. Casino dropped the first set by a 5-7 score but came back to win the second set 6-4, forcing the tie break which Gibson won 10-6. Nicole Haynal forced an extra point in her first set against Dara Hawkins-Hodsgon in the third singles match. Haynal fell by scores of 7-5 and 6-2.
Kasey Michels and Hali Dorfman also picked up points in their singles matches. Michels won three points in her first set against Ashley Rissolo at number two singles, while Dorfman won two points in her first set against Jen Cusack and fourth singles.
