Hawks Compete at 49th Colonial Relays

COMPLETE RESULTS

WILLIAMSBURG, Va.—The University of Hartford headed south this weekend to compete in the 49th annual Colonial Relays, hosted by the College of William & Mary. Highlighting Hartford's performances were a school-record from senior Megan Barry and point-scoring efforts from the women's sprint medley relay and men's triple jumper Jordan Crump-King.

Barry, a senior distance runner, turned in a school-record mark in the 5,000-meter run. Posting a time of 17:06.01, Barry broke her own outdoor school-best in the event by more than 10 seconds. Barry finished 12th in the seeded division of the women's 5,000 meters.

The sprint medley relay of Kafesha Thomas, Merrica Modeste, Tiffany Harrison and Sam Crisafulli posted an eighth-place time of 4:13.48 to score for the Hartford women.

Also garnering an eight-place scoring result was freshman Jordan Crump-King. Crump-King leapt 13.80 meters to finish second in the event's university division. That mark was good enough to be scored eighth overall in the university championship division to earn a point for the Hartford men. Fellow triple jumpers Rashawn Providence and Robert Pepper finished fifth and sixth, respectively, in the university division.

Three more Hawks posted top-10 marks in the university divisions of their respective events. Senior Andrew Dwyer notched a fifth-place finish in the men's university 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:01.72. Fellow senior Jennifer Flores took seventh in the women's university 1,500, crossing the line in 4:51.27. Clearing a height of 1.50 meters, sophomore Margaret Fuller took ninth in the women's high jump.

Hartford hits the track again next Saturday, April 12, when they head north to Amherst, Mass., for the UMass Minuteman Invitational.
