WOMEN'S RESULTS | MEN'S RESULTS WESTFIELD, Mass.—The University of Hartford track and field teams wrapped up the 2014 outdoor schedule Saturday at the New England Championships with two more All-New England performances. Saturday's pair of honors brought the total to four Hawks to earn All-New England honors at the meet.
Overall, the Hartford women posted 13 points while the men picked up four points at the meet.
Junior
Sam Crisafulli led the way for the Hartford contingent on the meet's final day, posting a school-record in the women's 800-meter run while garnering an All-New England result. Crisafulli completed her race in a time of 2:13.56, breaking her own school record, which she set at the America East Championship a week prior, by 1.46 seconds. The school record marked the third consecutive 800-meter race in which Crisafulli set the school record. The junior finished eighth in Saturday's race.
Also highlighting the performances for the Hartford women was freshman
Lauren Bossi, who capped a solid rookie campaign with an seventh-place mark in the heptathlon. On Saturday, Bossi posted a third-place mark in the heptathlon's 800, posting a time of 2:28.04. She also leapt 4.59 meters in the long jump and posted a mark of 20.84 meters in the javelin to amass 3,915 points, a personal-best total, over the two-day competition. Her seventh-place mark earned her a slot on the All-New England team.
Crisafulli and Bossi joined seniors
Megan Barry and
John Busque on the All-New England squad. Barry and Busque picked up the honors in their respective 10,000-meter races on Friday evening. Barry won the women's race while Busque took fifth in the men's race.
