THE LEAD:
A strong offensive performance by Boise State lifted the Broncos past the Hartford softball team, 10-1, on Sunday in the finale of the LMU/CSUN Tournament for the Hawks.

Rebekah Cervantes went 3-for-4 with three runs scored and two RBI, while Izzy Serrano had a 2-for-4 day with two runs and three RBI for the Broncos. Kelsey Broadus collected the win with four shutout innings and five strikeouts.

Five different Hawks had hits in the loss, with
Brittany Wallace going 1-for-3 with a run scored.
Lexi Wilkerson and
Kristen DeCiantis each hit doubles in the contest as well.
Isabella Gerone was credited with the loss after surrendering eight hits and five earned runs in three innings.
HOW THEY SCORED:
• Boise, which plated 25 runs against Quinnipiac earlier in the day, got off to a quick start with four runs on four hits and an error in the top of the first.
• The Broncos added a single run on an RBI groundout in the second and another on a sacrifice fly in the top of the third to make it 6-0.
• BSU plated a pair of unearned runs in the fourth, one on a groundout and the other on another sac fly, for an 8-0 lead.
• Hartford plated a run with a two-out rally in the bottom of the fifth with a Wallace single, a DeCiantis double and a wild pitch cutting the lead to 8-1.
• The Broncos plated a pair of runs in the top of the sixth to result in the final score.

UP NEXT:
Hartford returns to action next weekend for five games as part of the Pirate Invite, hosted by Seton Hall in South Orange, N.J. The Hawks begin play with a solo game against Iona at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, followed by two games each on Saturday and Sunday.
