THE LEAD:
Stony Brook used a late rally in game two to emerge victorious in both ends of Thursday's doubleheader against the Hartford softball team. Melissa Rahrich earned the win in both contests for the Seawolves.

GAME 1: STONY BROOK 12, HARTFORD 0 (5)
Stony Brook broke open a close game with an eight-run fourth inning en route to a victory in game one of the doubleheader. Marisa Ferguson went 2-for-2 in a losing effort for the Hawks.

Seven different players had two hits for the Seawolves, with Chelsea Evans scoring twice and driving in a pair of runs to lead the way. Rahrich got the win by allowing just two hits and no walks in a complete-game victory.

HOW THEY SCORED, GAME 1:
• Stony Brook got on the board with a three-spot in the top of the second on four hits and two errors.
• The Seawolves tacked on eight runs in the top of the fourth on eight hits and an error.
• SBU finished the scoring with a single tally in the top of the fifth.

GAME 2: STONY BROOK 9, HARTFORD 6
The Seawolves finished off a doubleheader sweep by breaking a late, 6-6 tie in the top of the sixth en route to a 9-6 win. Amber Mianti hit a grand slam for the Hawks in a losing effort.

Danielle DeMarco went 3-for-3 in the contest, while Bianca Ross added a 2-for-3 day as well. Ferguson scored twice in the loss as Rahrich collected the win in relief.

Irene Rivera and Rahrich each had 4-for-5 days in the win for the Seawolves. Lexi Wilkerson was carded with the loss after coming in out of the bullpen.

HOW THEY SCORED, GAME 2:
• The Hawks got on the board first when a DeMarco sac fly brought home Ferguson for a 1-0 lead in the first.
• Stony Brook answered with three in the top of the third on five hits to garner a 3-1 advantage.
• The Hawks got their answer in the bottom of the fourth off Mianti's bat, as the freshman drilled a two-out pitch over the wall in left field for her second homer of the year to give the Hawks a 5-3 lead.
• The Seawolves got a quick answer, though, plating three runs on four hits in the top of the fifth.
• Ross delivered an answer in the bottom of the frame, ripping a double to left center to bring Ferguson around for a 6-6 deadlock.
• Stony Brook added a run on a sac fly in the sixth to take a 7-6 lead and added two insurance runs in the seventh to result in the final score.
