Sacred Heart got strong pitching to take a pair of games from the Hartford softball team on Tuesday. It marked the final two non-conference affairs for the Hawks this season.

GAME 1: SACRED HEART 10, HARTFORD 0
Jamie Carlson struck out seven and pitched a no-hitter to lead the Pioneers in game one. Katelyn Christian went 3-for-3 with a home run and four RBI, while Victoria D'Addario had a 3-for-3 day as well. Jessica Dubbioso and Andrea Sidor each added solo homers for the visitors.

HOW THEY SCORED, GAME 1:
• Sacred Heart scored two in the top of the first on RBI singles by Fallon Bevino and Kristen McCann.
• The Pioneers added two more in the second with Christian and D'Addario driving in tallies.
• The third saw SHU deliver its biggest inning, with four runs coming in on home runs by Sidor and Christian.
• The Pioneers added insurance tallies in the fourth and fifth to result in the final score.

GAME 2: SACRED HEART 5, HARTFORD 2
Sacred Heart took advantage of the opportunities it was given, as the Pioneers spoiled a strong pitching outing for
Isabella Gerone on the way to a 5-2 win. Gerone allowed eight hits and only one earned run in seven innings of work for the Hawks.

Six different Hawks delivered singles in a losing effort, as Kristen McCann allowed one walk and two runs to collect a complete-game victory. Lauren Delgadillo and Hailey Desrosiers each had two hits in the win for the Pioneers.

HOW THEY SCORED, GAME 2:
• Sacred Heart plated a pair of unearned runs on a two-out RBI single in the top of the second off the bat of Delgadillo to make it 2-0.
• The score remained that way until the top of the fifth, when the Pioneers delivered another unearned run coming in on a Desrosiers RBI single for a 3-0 lead.
• Back-to-back doubles in the top of the seventh plated one run and a throwing error gave the Pioneers a 5-0 lead.
• Hartford staged a rally in the top of the seventh, with
Lexi Wilkerson delivering an RBI groundout to score
Kylie Dazalla and
Eliza Bomhardt driving in
Madison Hilimire on a single.

UP NEXT:
The Hawks head south to Baltimore to take on UMBC this weekend in the final three games of conference play. Hartford will play a doubleheader against the Retrievers on Friday starting at 2 p.m. with the series finale on Saturday at noon.
