HOW IT HAPPENED
Game 1
- The Terriers jumped out early, scoring four runs off three hits in the first inning.
- Hartford put themselves on the board in the second, after a leadoff single p the middle from Rocheleau, Newkirk ripped her second homer of the season, cutting the BU lead to 4-2.
- BU extended their lead in the following innings, scoring two in the third, one in the fourth and two in the fifth, to lead 9-2.
- The Hawks matched BU's pair in the fifth inning, after a pair of singles from sophomore Eliza Bombhardt and freshman Lily Sencer set junior Kylie Dazalla up, who laced a two-run double down the left field line, cutting the BU lead to 9-4.
- The Terries put one run up in the top of the seventh, which was matched by a Mianti solo shot but was not enough as the Terrier took the 10-5 decision.
Game 2
- Just like game one, the Terrier opened strong, scoring three runs in the opening two frames, but with one swing of the bat from Saharek, the Hawks knotted it up in the second. Rocheleau and Newkirk both reached on singles before a Saharek sent a homer over the left field fence.
- BU took the lead back in the third, before a Newkirk single in the bottom half of the frame, driving in Dazalla to knot the game back up at four.
- Later that inning, Saharek forced a walk that drove in sophomore Madison Hilimire, giving the Hawks a 5-4 lead.
- A Terrier RBI double to right field drew game back even at five.
- Rocheleau quickly gave the Hawks the lead back, drilling a homer to right field to put the Hawks back up 6-5.
- BU tied the game back up off a SAC fly in the sixth, forcing extra inning in which they scored two runs in the eighth to take game two, 8-6.
