HOW IT HAPPENED
Game 1
  • The Hawks started strong, freshman Lily Sencer led off the game working a walk, which was followed by a single from freshman Nicollette Barranger.  Both Freshmen scored as Sencer stole third and scored on a throwing error from the River Hawks catcher, putting the Hawks up 2-0 early.
  • The River Hawks responded with a pair of runs of their own in the bottom of the first, before exploding for six runs in the third to take an 8-2 lead.
  • After UMass Lowell added another run to their lead in the fourth, sophomore Eliza Bomhardt launched a two-run homer to right field to cut into the River Hawks lead, 9-4.
  • Junior Kylie Dazalla continued the Hartford rally in the sixth, driving in freshman Danielle Rocheleau bringing the Hawks within four, 9-5.
  • The River Hawks plated five in the sixth to take the 14-5 decision.
Game 2
  • Similar to game one, the River Hawks had a strong third inning, scoring six runs to take a 6-0 lead.
  • Sencer left off the sixth ripping a single up the middle, later scoring off a Dazalla RBI single to left to put the Hawks on the board, 6-1.
  • UMass Lowell tacked on three runs off five hits in the sixth to seal the 9-1 decision.
