NEW HAVEN, Conn – Hartford indoor track and field kicked off its 2018-19 slate on Saturday at the Yale Season Opener. The Hawks saw numerous top-three performances and two new school records broken by sophomores

Dalton Burnham.

HARTFORD MEN HIGHLIGHTS
- The men finished the meet with 16 top-three finishers, highlighted by senior Terrel Davis, who took home first-place in both the long jump (6.98m) and triple jump (14.16m)
- The Hawks' record book was inked today when Murad recorded a throw of 14.19m in the shot put, to break the previous record by .09 meters and finish third in the event
- Burnham continued the Hawks success in the field events with a first place finish in the pole vault (4.00m) to set a new school record in the event, while fellow sophomore Anthony Clavette finished third in the high jump (1.95m) and rookie Christopher Fils finished third in the triple jump (13.37m)
- Junior Nicholas O'Brien took home first-place honors in the 5k (15:39.18) while freshman Matthew Konopinski earned third place (16:26.88)
- Freshman Cole Cayer finished first in the 3000m (9:02.29) while the men's 4x800 team took home first place after running a time of 8:29.92
HARTFORD WOMEN HIGHLIGHTS
- The women's side had 11 finishers in the top-3, including five first place honors
- Senior Olivia Rougeau earned first place in the high jump (1.68m) while also finishing third in the long jump (5.39m)
- Senior Elizabeth Lodge tied with Rougeau for first-place in the high jump by also setting a mark of 1.68m. She also earned third place accolades in the 60m hurdles after running a time of 9.30
- Rookie Hailey Marcello earned first place in the mile (5:28.47), while sophomore Haleemot Adeyanju took home first place in the 1000m (3:01.31)
- Freshman Gabrielle Zeller, who finished second in the 5,000m (19:09.08), junior Quinnae Outerbridge, who earned runner-up honors in the 1,000m (3:12.41), freshman Christie Czajka, who earned third place in the 1000m (3:12.48) and junior Abby Meyers, who earned runner-up honors in the 500m (1:17.93) rounded out the top-three finishers for the Hawks
- The women's 4x800m team also took home first place after finishing in a time of 10:04.07
