WEST HARTFORD, Conn.- Hartford track and field head coach Stacie Wentz has announced the schedule for the upcoming men's and women's outdoor 2019 season. The Hawks will compete in six meets prior to the America East Championships, which will be hosted by UAlbany.
 
"We are pleased to announce our spring schedule," exclaimed Wentz. "We changed our schedule up this year to give our athletes the opportunity to compete against some new opponents and to get our team in some warmer weather this spring. It's our hope that this schedule will be best to set ourselves up with a few NCAA championship qualifiers this year."

The Hawks open their outdoor slate with a warm-weather trip to South Carolina to compete in the Adidas Winthrop Invitational. Held in Rock Hill, the meet spans over three days between March 21-23. 
 
Hartford will conclude its March slate with some conference action as it travels to UMass Lowell to compete in the River Hawk Invitational on Saturday, March 30. 
 
The Hawks have a busy month in April, as they compete in four meets, beginning with a trip to UMass on Saturday, April 6. Next, Hartford will travel to Hanover, N.H., to compete in the Dartmouth Quad Meet on Friday, April 12. 
 
The Hawks travel to Princeton, N.J., for two days to compete in the Princeton Invitational beginning on April 19, before getting one final tune-up in before the conference championships at the CCSU Invitational (April 27).  
 
Hosted by UAlbany, the America East Championship meet will span over two days between May 4-5. Following the conference Championships, the Hawks head closer to home to compete in the New England Championships (May 10-11), hosted by Southern Connecticut in New Haven, Conn. 
 
The month of May concludes with the NCAA East Regional Championships. The three-day event begins on March 23, and takes place in Jacksonville, Fla. From there, those who qualify will head to Austin, Texas, to compete in the NCAA Championships, beginning on June 5.
 
The Hawks are coming back from a very successful outdoor track and field season in 2018, after seeing eight athletes earn top-eight finishes at the America East Championship meet, including first-place finishes by Terrel Davis and Elizabeth Lodge. Davis took the conference crown in the long jump with a mark of 7.24 meters, while Lodge broke a program record in the heptathlon (4,628) on her way to the title.
