SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

FIRST STRIDE
Hartford outdoor track and field makes its 2019 debut on Thursday, as it heads to sunny South Carolina to compete in the Adidas Winthrop Invitational. Hosted by Winthrop, the three-day event will be held at the Irwin Belk Track and Field Complex in Rock Hill, S.C.

Junior Terrel Davis (long jump and triple jump) and sophomore Victor Shapovalo (javelin) will highlight the men's side, while sophomore Elizabeth Lodge (heptathlon, high jump, javelin) and junior Olivia Rougeau (high jump and long jump) will represent the women.

LAST SEASON
The Hawks are coming off of a very successful outdoor track and field season in 2018 that saw eight student-athletes earn top-eight finishes at the America East Championship, including first-place finishes by Davis and Lodge. Davis took the conference crown in the long jump with a mark of 7.24 meters, while Lodge broke a program record in the heptathlon (4,628) on her way to claiming the title.

Rougeau also performed well, matching her own program record of 1.70m in the high jump on the way to a second-place finish in the event. The high jump record-holder also earned a fifth-place finish in the long jump (5.56m) to help lead the Hawks to a 25-point finish at the conference championships.

NEXT ON TAP
The rest of the Hawks will be back on the track next Saturday, March 30, when they compete in the River hawk Invitational, hosted by America East member UMass Lowell.
