BOSTON — Junior Terrel Davis from the Hartford outdoor track and field team was named the America East Field Performer of the Week, the organization announced on Wednesday.

A native of Beacon, N.Y., Davis took the title in the triple jump at the Minutemen Invitational on Saturday. Jumping an impressive distance of 15.19m, he broke his own school record of 14.77m. In addition to taking the crown in the triple jump, Davis also earned third in the high jump with a mark of 1.87m.

Davis is a top performer for the Hawks and currently owns the school records for the long jump and triple jump in both indoor and outdoor track and field. Last season, Davis won the long jump at the outdoor America East Championships with a mark of 7.42m.

Davis becomes the first Hawk to win a weekly award from the America East this season. Hartford earned its last weekly award in 2012 when Tiffany Harrison was named the Track Performer of the Week.

Davis and the Hawks return to action on Friday, April 12, at the Dartmouth Quad Meet.
