FIRST STRIDE
Hartford outdoor track and field competes at neighboring CCSU this weekend for a final tune up before the America East Championship meet. Held in New Britain, Conn., field events begin at 10 a.m., followed by track events at noon.
 
HARTFORD QUICK HITS

• The Hawks are coming off of a successful run at a competitive Larry Ellis Invitational last weekend
• Hartford's performance was highlighted by four top-10 finishes, led by sophomore Victor Shapovalo, who took fifth-place in the javelin (57.65m)
• Rookie Keon Cooper followed Shapovalo with a sixth-place finish in the javelin (52.58m)
• Freshman Haleemot Adeyanju secured an 11th-place finish among a competitive field of 38 in the 800m (2:17)
