Hartford head cross country coach Stacie Wentz has announced the schedule for the 2019 men's and women's cross country campaigns. The Hawks will compete in five meets leading up to this year's America East Championships, which are set to be hosted by and held at UAlbany.
 
"We have a very young team with a very talented and large freshmen class who will be adjusting the longer college cross country races" said Wentz. "With that in mind, we created a schedule focused on setting us up to compete well at the America East Championships in November."

Hartford opens the 2019 season with a pair of meets in September, leading off with the Maribel Sanchez Souther Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 7, at the Hanover Country Club in Hanover, N.H. The Hawks wrap up the opening month of the season with a trip to nearby Stanley Quarter Park in New Britain, Conn., on Saturday, Sept. 28, to take part in the Ted Owen Invitational.
 
Hartford then takes a 13-day break in its schedule before returning to action for the highly competitive New England Championships held at Franklin Park in Boston, Mass., on Saturday, Oct. 18. Following the trip to Boston, the Hawks travel to Albany to participate in the UAlbany Preview Meet on Saturday, Oct. 12.
 
The Hawks return to Stanley Quarter Park in New Britain, Conn., for their final tune-up meet before the America East Championships, as they take part in the CCSU Mini Meet on Friday, Oct. 25.
 
November brings the start of Championship season, which kicks off with The America East Championships Saturday, Nov. 2, in Albany, N.Y. The Hawks then head to Buffalo, N.Y, to take part in the NCAA East Regional Championships on Thursday, Nov. 15.
 
The men's cross country team returns three key members in rising senior Sean Garrison and rising juniors Nicholas O'Brien and Wesley Moody. All three men consistently scored points for the Hawks during the 2018 campaign and are looking to lead the incoming crop of freshman.
 
Rising sophomores Grace Furlong and Haleemot Adeyanju return for the Hawks women's cross country team in 2019, as they look to improve on their impressive rookie seasons a year ago.
