NEW YORK – Hartford indoor track and field opened up 2020 with a terrific performance against tough opposition at the Towson Tiger Invitational on Sunday evening. The Hawks finished the day with 26 top-three finishers, while eight individuals took home first place in their respective events.

HARTFORD MEN HIGHLIGHTS 

• The men's team finished with 16 top-three performances while taking home the win in five different events
• Sophomore Kaylan Depas earned third place in the men's 200m after finishing in a season-best time of 22.56
• Junior Nicholas O'Brien crossed the line in a time of 4:29.02 in the mile to take home third place in the event
• Freshman Christian Deal and Matthew Konopinksi finished in first and second respectively during the men's 3000m after crossing the line in times of 9:02.02 and 9:03.35 respectively
• Freshmen Ardontrell Williams became the next Hawk to earn first place accolades after winning the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.62 while fellow freshmen Benjmain Pinkowski and Anthony Clavette completed a Hartford sweep of the 60m hurdles after finishing second and third respectively
• Clavette would then go on to win the men's high jump after clearing a height of 1.92m, while seniors Connor Kenny and Marcus Murray tied for second with a height of 1.87m
• Senior Terrel Davis continued his dominance in the long jump as he won the event for the third meet in a row, leaping 7.06m while Pinkowski trailed behind in third. Davis would also place third in the triple jump event
• Sophomore Dalton Burnham would round out the Hawk's first place accolades after winning the pole vault with a mark of 4.10m to tie his season-best
• Sophomore Dylan Murhad rounded out the men's top-three finishes after finishing second in the shot put with a throw of 13.44m
   

HARTFORD WOMEN HIGHLIGHTS

• On the women's side, the team finished with ten top-three finishers, including three first-place accolades
• Sophomore Haleemot Adeyanju continued her tremendous indoor campaign after earning first-place accolades in the 500m after finishing in a time of 1:17.68 while freshman Abby Meyers earned third place in the event after crossing the line in a time of 1:18.37
• Freshman Porsha Muhammed and Alysia Joseph took home second and third place respectively in the women's 400m after setting times of 1:03.76 and 1:04.38
• Junior Quinnae Outerbridge ran a season-best time of 2:28.71 to earn second place accolades in the 800m
• Freshman Gabrielle Zeller won the women's 3000m after crossing the line in a season-best time of 11:09.83, while fellow freshman Hannah D'Orso completed the mile in a time of  5:23.33 to take home third place
• Senior Olivia Rougeau wrapped up Hartford's event winners after taking home first-place in the high jump after clearing a height of 1.65m, while junior Elizabeth Lodge earned third-place accolades after clearing a height of 1.60m
• Senior Lydia Farmed wrapped up the Hawk's top-three finishers after jumping 10.32m in the triple jump to earn third place

  The Hawks quickly return to action on Friday, January 24- Saturday, January 25 as they head to Boston, Mass to compete in the John Thomas Terrier Classic. The two-day event takes place at the Track & Tennis Center on the campus of Boston University.
