Davis Earns AE Field Performer of the Week

BOSTON — Senior Terrel Davis of the Hartford indoor track and field team was named the America East Field Performer of the Week for the second time this season, the organization announced on Tuesday.

A native of Beacon, N.Y., Davis etched his name into the Hartford record books after breaking his own school record in the long jump, reaching a mark of 7.48m at the John Thomas Terrier Classic. His performance at the meet earned him second place honors in the event and sees him rank first in the conference in the long jump. Davis is a top performer for the Hawks and currently owns the school records for the long jump and triple jump in both indoor and outdoor track and field.

This is the second time this season that Davis has earned a conference accolade, after being named America East Field Performer of the week on December, 17, and the third honor in his career. The Hawks have now earned three conference performer of the week honors after sophomore Haleemot Adeyanju earned Track Performer of the week on Dec., 17.

Davis and the Hawks return to action this weekend for the New England Championships in Boston, Mass. The two-day event begins on Friday, January 31 and concludes on Saturday, February 1.
