A junior, Hunter Marks had one of the most impressive turnarounds in Hartford men's basketball program history. Logging 32 minutes and scoring six points as a rookie in 2018-29, he started in all 33 games in 2019-20 and played a team-high 1,152 minutes. Marks was one of the Hawks' top scorers and rebounders that season, finishing second with 10.8 points and 6.1 boards per contest.
Marks has picked up right where he left off in 2020-21. He has scored in double figures in three of five games, and is coming off a solid performance in this past Monday's 67-54 win against Fairfield that featured his third career double-double (10 points, 11 rebounds). He is currently third on the team in scoring (9.6 ppg), while his 7.2 rebounds per game rank first on the team.
Marks, a 6-9 forward, is the fifth player in program history to join the Hawks from the Land Down Under, joining fellow Aussies George Blagojevic, Taylor Dyson, Dougal Weir and Corban Wroe. Jeff Dooley, the voice of the Hartford Hawks, had a chance to catch up with the Phillip Island, Australia, native in the interview below.
