Cross Country Wraps Competition at Paul Short Invitational

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — The Hartford men's and women's cross country teams continued its 2021 campaign at the Paul Short Invitational, held at Goodman Campus Cross Country Course on Friday.

MEN'S RACE HIGHLIGHTS
  • Sophomore Christian Deal, who paced the Hawks in both races this season, was Hartford's top finisher, as he took 282nd with a personal-best time of 26:05.00
  • Senior Nicholas O'Brien was the next Hawk to cross the line, clocking in at 26:08.2, his best time of the season
  • Freshman William Lamburn ran a career-best 26:17.1 to take 299th
  • Freshman Nicholas Turo and sophomore Keith May within three seconds of each other, clocking in at 27:01.3 and 27:03.8, respectively
 
WOMEN'S RACE HIGHLIGHTS
  • Sophomore Hailey Marcello was Hartford's top finisher at 238th, crossing the line at 22:50.7
  • Coming off a career-best mark of 19:05.12 last weekend, Abigail O'Connor finished the race at 23:08.4
  • Junior Haleemot Adeyanju followed at 23:13.7, with Hannah D'Orso trailing at 23:26.8
  • D'Orso also came away with a new personal-best last weekend, as she covered the course in 19:05.91
 
NEXT ON TAP
The Hawks will be back in action on Saturday, Oct. 9 when they travel to Boston to participate in the New England Championships held at Franklin Park.
