Cross County Concludes 2021 Season at NCAA Northeast Regionals

BOSTON, Mass.- The Hartford men's and women's cross-country teams concluded their 2021 season on Friday at the NCAA Division I Northeast Regional Championship Meet. Numerous Hawks would set personal-best times as the men finished in 32nd while the women came in 33rd.
 
HARTFORD MEN HIGHLIGHTS
  • Six of the seven men set personal-bests over the 10k distance
  • Newcomers Samuel Moffat and Riley Brutvan led the Hawks in their first collegiate 10k
  • Moffat finished with a personal-best time of 34:42 to come in 184th place
  • Bruvtan followed closely behind, crossing the line in a time of 34:58 for 194th place
  • The top five scoring positions were rounded out by Juniors Keith May and Cole Cayer, as well as graduate student Nicholas O'Brien
  • May ran 35:20 finishing in 200th and Cayer came in at 35:55 in 214th
  • O'Brien wraps up a successful collegiate cross-country career finishing in a time of 35:57 in 208th overall, scoring points as the 4th finisher on the team
  • Syracuse would be crowned the team champion in the men's 10k
HARTFORD WOMEN HIGHLIGHTS
  • Senior Haleemot Adeyanju would lead the women in the 6k, finishing in a time of 23:50 for 176th place
  • She would be followed closely behind by teammate sophomore Abby O'Connor, who crossed the line just three seconds behind Adeyanju
  • The final three top five scoring positions would be rounded out by juniors Hannah D'Orso(24:33 for 211th) and Hailey Marcello (24:59 for 225th), as well as sophomore Sarah Kulpa (24:48 for 219th )
  • Harvard repeated as team champions
