Clavette and Lodge Earn All-Academic Team Honors

BOSTON – Senior Elizabeth Lodge and sophomore Anthony Clavette of the Hartford men's and women's track and field teams earned All-Academic Team honors, the America East announced Thursday. Lodge is a repeat honoree, earning All-Academic Team status twice last season, while the nod is the first of Clavette's career.

A native of Manchester, Conn., Lodge earns her third consecutive All-Academic Team selection, receiving the honor for both indoor and outdoor track and field in 2019-20. Boasting a 3.87 GPA as a marketing major, the senior is a three-time member of the Commissioner's Honor Roll (3.5+ GPA) and has been named to the Dean's List seven times and the President's List (GPA of 3.75+) twice.

This season, Lodge put up tremendous performances, concluding with a record-breaking performance at the America East Outdoor Championships, taking home the gold medal in both the heptathlon and high jump. After breaking the school record in both events, she also shattered the program record in the long jump. Earning Most Outstanding Field Performer of the Championships, her mark of 1.76m in the high jump is currently the 28th-best in the East region, and the 61st-best mark in the nation.

Clavette earns All-Academic Team honors for the first time in his career. Posting a 3.97 GPA as a computer science major, the Scarborough, Maine, native has received Commissioner's Honor Roll status once and was named to the Dean's List three times and the President's List twice.

Clavette has had a sensational sophomore campaign, winning the high jump in all but one of the five meets he has participated in this season. During the America East Outdoor Championships, he took home the silver medal in the high jump after clearing a height of 1.93m. In his short career, Clavette has established himself as one of the best high jumpers in Hartford history, holding the program's records for both the indoor high jump (2.00m) and outdoor high jump (2.01m).
